HOPE FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN AFRICA GROUP

WSSET - HOPE GROUP is a wing of the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET) made up of professionals, students, staffs and volunteers with African backgrounds, who focus their effort to advance sustainable energy practice and development in the African countries. However, anyone who wishes to support the aims and mission of the group can subscribe to membership.

WSSET- HOPE GROUP intends to achieve its mission by

• Initiating, developing and securing a range of programmes, scholarships, and activities with universities and industries around the world to promote capacity building
• Promoting Africa renewable energy opportunities and stimulating both local entrepreneurs and venture in Africa
• Highlighting links between poverty, climate change and sustainable development in Africa
• Publishing the Sustainable Energy Development Africa Journal/Magazine (SEDAJ/SEDAM)
• Coordinating research and pilot projects to disseminate renewable energy technologies for sustainable development throughout Africa
• Providing technical advice/services
• Gathering climate change evidence in Africa
• Engaging actively in lobbying and advocacy work to influence local, regional or national policy making in relation to sustainable development and energy in Africa
• Organising workshops, seminars, and conferences, and promoting sustainable technologies and eco-buildings
• Implementing effective strategies to ensure that public awareness in Africa countries about sustainable technologies increases exponentially
• Establishing linkages and cooperative R&D activities on sustainable renewable energy technologies with institutions and research centres worldwide.
