9th International Conference on

Sustainable Energy Technologies

The SET(Sustainable Energy Technologies) Conference has been held every year since 2002. It has played a central role in providing an excellent forum for reviewing the present state-of-the-art low carbon technologies and discussing the proper direction to take in the development of sustainables as our legacy to the coming generations in this 21st century. The main areas it covered since its first conference in Portugal (Porto) include:
  1. Sustainable architecture and eco-building design,
  2. Renewable energies (solar, PV, wind, biomass),
  3. Low carbon technologies (fuel cell, heat pumps, hydrogen energy),
  4. Renewable energy management, economics and environmental impact).
Following Portugal, United Kingdom(Nottingham), China(Shandong, Chongqing), Italy(Vicenza), and Chile(Santiago) were the venues of the conference. In each conference, about 140 technical papers (on the average) were presented from more than 40 countries. The SET 2009 conference was held in Aachn, Germany and more than 350 delegates attended the event. SET 2010 Conference will be held in Shanghai, China on August 25th- 27th.
Objective

The continuing objective of this conference series is to promote research and applications of the sustainable energy technologies. The specific objective of SET2010 is to situate these technologies in the context of the environmental pressure developed by growing economies still lacking technologies that fit their economic and cultural needs.

The conference invites researchers, engineers, government officers and company delegates from the all fields to gather, present and share the results of their work in these areas and discuss future strategies for sustainability.
